I'm a mid-20's gal living it up in the mid-west. I'm writing this blog to share with the delicious food I love to cook and some of my dapplings into photography as well. I guess you could consider these my two main hobbies!
I grew up with a love of cooking and baking thanks to my mother. However, I was a pretty picky eater so I didn't always make or eat the most nutritious of foods. This, and main-stream thought about food and dieting caused me to be quite overweight throughout most of my life. Over the last couple of years I have been educating myself about real, natural, unprocessed foods and working to incorporate them into my everyday life. Eating this way has helped me keep the weight off and improved my overall health and well-being.
I have always like taking photos. I got involved in 4-H photography projects as a child and routinely took the top place with my work at the county fair. Over the years my requests for gifts were usually bigger an better cameras. My first film zoom camera was a Jr high school Christmas gift, my first digital camera was my high school graduation gift (it used 3.5" floppy disks!), my next digital camera was a college graduation gift, and my gift to myself for grad-school graduation was my first DSLR. While I have never taken any formal photography classes, I have learned a lot from reading and trial and error. Should I ever earn enough money from this blog for anything, you can be sure it will go towards new lenses for my camera!
